Week 1 done!
Well, so far so good on 1 year of Try Hack Me. I mean, it has only been a week (11 days to be exact) so this post is a little late. It has been fun so far. A lot of basic info rooms and a start into some windows knowledge. I was able to complete the pre-security path relatively fast; this was due to having spent quite a bit of time on the free courses on try hack me. I also feel like, after earning my COMPTIA NET+, I understand a lot more of the technical aspects of networking, which has definitely helped me in completing these rooms. I was able to secure 1st place in the gold league, which is a first for this girl! Although, I will say it was the same week as hacker summer camp, so I figure most of the competition was in Vegas.
I did not complete a challenge like I had hoped to. Unfortunately, last Sunday fedora finally gave me the reason I needed to dump that distro. I have been having problems with Fedora and my graphics card ever since fedora 42. Last Sunday, my computer started freezing any time my gpu had to do any real work. During what I though was a freeze, I did a reset, only to find out it was doing an update. Well, that was it for me; and, just my luck, Debian 13 was released the same day. I couldn't resist. So, no challenge, but a new OS and a computer that works again. Let's hope I don't ultimately have to replace my graphics card. On to this week, and what a busy week we have! See you in the wires. ;)
