The Bottom of the Dumpster is an independent publication launched in July 2025 by a lovable Trash Panda. This is the beginning of a project, we will see what becomes of it. I am a student of information security and all around fuckery. This blog is a reflection of my learning as well as thoughtful insights into modern information security, cyber defense, and threat analysis. I am by no means an expert, yet I put my whole heart and brain into finding the answers to the questions that bother me, and a lot of them bother me.

About Me:

What can I say that may interest you? I am a perpetual student, constantly learning. I went to college and graduated with a BS in biochemistry and statistics. Almost immediately I regretted not majoring in a computer science related field. I have been teaching myself the field of cybersecurity since. While most of the aspects of cybersecurity interest me, I love threat prediction and mitigation. I love to think and compute in multidimensional analysis. I love to play chess.

I am also a chef, I have been for most of my adult life. While the restaurant industry has kept me alive, I feel our food system is completely unjust on so many levels. I passionately spend my free time trying to create food stability and equality within my local community. Recently, my focus has been on the cybersecurity posture of the US restaurant industry. AI ART

All art on this site is AI generated. Why? WHY THE FUCK NOT?! I use chatGPT to create mostly unique, royalty free clip art basically. While I understand there is a huge debate over AI and the loss of creative jobs, I am not the financial backbone of the graphic arts industry and so my impact is null. Even if I had a friend that had the time and talent to whip up some crazy image I have rolling around this brain at the drop of a hat, I would still use AI. WHY?! Because no one should be spending all of their energy trying to create the crazy ideas in my head; that is why we created computers. That is not to say I don't support the arts or my artistic friends. I would much rather find meaningful ways to support my friends and community rather than have them create an image of a raccoon punching a doughnut.
